Proud to share that UW Credit Union is among the organizations who’ve already signed the Dije Data Benchmarking Pledge, an initiative to make the Greater Madison region more prosperous, welcoming and inclusive. We’re joining other regional organizations in annually reporting our anonymized EEO1 data including headcount by race, ethnicity, gender and job category. This will benchmark where we’re at and help us collectively work toward progress. In fall, we signed the Region of Choice Pledge, a similar commitment to the Milwaukee market. Through measurement, improvement is possible.
UW Credit Union has, for the third time, been named a Madison Area Top Workplace by Wisconsin State Journal Wondering why we’re a great place to work? Because our promise is not just to our members but our employees too!
We are proud to share our 2022 #AnnualReport is now available! Allison O'Grady Learning and Development Manager A highlight of the week was kicking off the new 2023 Expanding Leadership Potential cohort! As a bonus, the group engaged in an exercise to test team dynamics and completed a service project with United Way. We are lucky to have these leaders at UW Credit Union 🥳#leadershipdevelopment #service #giveback #unitedway

Happy International Women’s Day! UW Credit Union employees are celebrating by wearing purple and reflecting on the theme of #IWD2023: #EmbraceEquity. As the IWD website reads, “The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about why equal oppotunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action.” UW Credit Union is proud to #EmbraceEquity though our robust Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program; equitable pay regardless of gender, race or background; and more. Happy #IWD2023! 💜
One fun fact about UW Credit Union: All of our conference rooms are named after people in UWCU history and places in Wisconsin. Recently, for the first time, we broke that tradition by naming an executive conference room after a local legend: Frances Huntley-Cooper. Frances Huntley-Cooper is the former mayor of Fitchburg and the first African-American elected to mayor in Wisconsin. She is a trailblazer for women seeking political office and a longtime social worker dedicated to supporting students of color. Since her tenure as mayor, she has remained heavily involved in local causes. She is a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., is chair of Madison College Board of Trustees and is a founding member of the NAACP of Dane County. She also served as chair for the NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics. We were honored to invite Frances on Feb. 1, the first day of Black History Month, to a luncheon in her honor to celebrate the new conference room. The group enjoyed delicious traditional soul food from Melly Mel's, a local Black-owned busines
Love is in the air! 💘 The UW Credit Union team is celebrating Valentine's Day early by making more than 400 valentines for older adults at organizations like NewBridge Madison and United Community Center in Milwaukee. Want to join in on the fun? Just do two things: 1) Talk to your local senior living community or older adult program provider and ask if they’re accepting valentines. 2) If so, craft away and drop them off when you’re done! Happy (early) Valentine's Day!
Our commitment to our members also holds true for our employees… UW Credit Union has been recognized (again) as a Top Workplace nationwide… We are proud of our culture that brings out the best in all of us every day…
