Laura Oritz, Resource Specialist Volunteered today at Henry Vilas Zoo with UW Credit Union for “Fun in the Sun”! #iwork4uwcu #volunteer #henryvilaszoo
Joe Liethen, CFO On Friday, I was proud to represent UW Credit Union at my first company event (and a big one!): the grand opening of the UW Credit Union Plaza at American Family Field. As I mentioned in my opening remarks, I love this space because it reflects who we are at UWCU: a place built by Wisconsinites, for Wisconsinites. The Plaza is a tribute to our state that celebrates our agricultural roots, beloved traditions and landmarks. And, of course, it’s not Wisconsin if there’s not a beer garden close by. Best of all, this is a free, family-friendly, open-access space. Reducing fees and helping members keep more of their hard-earned money is core to who we are as a credit union. Projects like this are a fresh, exciting way to bring those values to life. A big thank you to Rick Schlesinger and our partners at the Milwaukee Brewers for making the Plaza a reality. And thank you to my colleagues at UW Credit Union for pulling off an amazing event and trusting me with the big scissors!
Aaron Campbell, Business & Specialized Services UW Credit Union got our hands dirty today with another visit to Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens Forward Garden! Megan was again a phenomenal leader and teacher- we planted seeds to ensure there is healthy food available later into the growing season for our community. Cabbage, Cauliflower and more! #PeopleHelpingPeople is easy when you are having this much fun playing with dirt. It doesn’t hurt that the garden dog was around too! #CreditUnions #FeedPeople
Elizabeth Melendez, Branch Manager Had an amazing time celebrating Juneteenth in Milwaukee today! 🎉✊🏾❤️💚💛 It was a day filled with community, culture, music, food, and joy. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the importance of honoring Black history and achievements. I’m grateful to have been part of such a vibrant celebration and to see so many people come together in unity and pride. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special. Milwaukee knows how to celebrate! UW Credit Union was present in the parade and as a vendor so nice seen amazing co-workers present during the festivities #JuneteenthMilwaukee #CelebrateFreedom #CommunityStrong #Juneteenth2026 #MilwaukeeEvents
Danielle Magnusson, Brand Experience Coordinator I feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of an organization that not only supports, but encourages celebrations of Pride. This morning we held our annual Pride Flag unfurling at our corporate office, and I was honored to have the opportunity go give some remarks as a co-lead of SAGA. 🌈 Thank you to everyone who was able to join us in person and online! #iwork4uwcu
Arshia Rikhi, Software Engineer Intern I’m excited to share that I’ve officially completed my first week as a Software Engineering Intern at UW Credit Union! A huge thank you to my manager Madeline Umscheid and the rest of the team for the warm welcome and for making my onboarding so smooth. I’ve already learned so much about large-scale application development and frontend-backend integration, and I can’t wait to start contributing to our upcoming projects. Excited for what these next few months have in store!
Tim Virnig, Senior Financial Specialist Last night, I had the privilege of representing UW Credit Union at the 2026 Middleton High School Local Scholarship Night. It was an inspiring evening celebrating the hard work, resilience, and bright futures of our local students. At UW Credit Union, we’re deeply committed to financial education and inclusion, especially in the communities we serve. By partnering with Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District remove barriers and open doors for students who will become the next generation of leaders, innovators, and responsible financial citizens. Investing in our youth isn’t just good community work—it’s one of the highest-return investments UW Credit Union can make.
Anthony Ramos Flores A lot can change in two and a half years. Last week marked the end of my journey with UW Credit Union. I started as a 17 year old high school intern hoping to learn a thing or two. I graduated high school, worked as a teller, switched my major from accounting to computer science, and ended up back as an intern with the IT department. I didn’t plan for any of that. This community took a chance on me when I was still figuring things out. That’s what made this place special. It always gave me room to grow. To everyone at UWCU who supported me along the way, thank you. You had more of an impact than you probably realized.
Caitlin Paterson, PMP Yesterday, my UW Credit Union team used our VTO (volunteer time off) to help GiGi's Playhouse Madison stuff race bags for their Dash for Down syndrome 5k. I am so grateful to work at a place that offers this benefit and fosters such a culture of volunteering and community giving! I am even more grateful that GiGis exists for the Down syndrome community and that we got to help them hold an awesome fundraiser!! If you're in Madison this weekend, on April 25th come around and cheer on the amazing walkers and runners and see why this community is THE BEST.
Paul Kundert, President/CEO We opened our doors in 1931 but didn’t offer checking accounts until 1979. It took 32 years to reach our first 100,000 checking relationships. The next 100,000 came in just over 8 years. And today—about 7½ years later—we reached 300,000. A checking account is more than a product. It’s where paychecks land, bills get paid, and daily financial life happens. When a member chooses to keep that relationship with us, it represents trust—earned one interaction at a time. Only 39 other credit unions nationwide have reached this level of member connection through checking relationships. We’re proud to be among them and even more grateful to the members, employees, and communities that made it possible. Here’s to the people of Wisconsin who believed in us, and the UW Credit Union Team that continues to earn that trust every day. #Grateful #iwork4uwcu #creditunion #WisconsinIdea #socialfinance
