First is the annual Best Places to Work in Insurance award program, which recognizes employers for their outstanding performance in establishing workplaces where employees can thrive, enjoy their work, and help their companies grow. This is the fourteenth consecutive year West Bend has made the list. The second list is Fortune Magazine's Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance™, which is based on an anonymous employee survey wherein respondents ranked West Bend well above the national average in the areas of leadership strength and integrity, pride in their work, opportunities for professional development, and support of work-life balance. West Bend Mutual Insurance Company announced the appointment and promotion of Dave Ertmer to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Having joined West Bend in 2009 as director of worker's compensation claims, Dave's industry background includes almost three decades of insurance experience and strategic leadership. In 2011 he was promoted to vice president – Claims, responsible for all claims operations across the enterprise, and since 2019, he's served as senior vice president – Claims. "As we continue toward achieving our strategic goals, we are taking the necessary steps to introduce the COO role to our leadership team. This new position will be instrumental to our operational performance and ensure we're positioned for the future," stated Kevin Steiner, CEO of West Bend. West Bend Mutual Insurance Company announced the promotion of Rob Jacques to president. Jacques has been with the company for 22 years and is a senior officer leading West Bend’s Commercial Enterprise. As president, he will continue to support the company’s corporate strategies and operating principles. Kevin Steiner, current president and CEO, will remain as CEO and looks forward to working with Rob Jacques in his new role as president. “Rob has the support of an excellent group of officers and leaders at West Bend. He’s a strong advocate of our company’s culture. He recognizes that the outstanding success our company has enjoyed for the past decade is due to the relationships we’ve built with our associates and agents working for and representing our company,” stated Kevin Steiner.
