There are a number of different training classes in place. It varies from region to region, but it's all unpaid.

It varies deeply depending on one's upline. Usually a few large opportunities per year. Good bosses will help their agents, as they get an override on the new agent's sales. Bad ones.... hope you like reading sales books on your own.

You initially go to what is called, "Flight School". This is an intensive, 4 day, group training where you learn everything you need to know about Aflac, prospecting, sales, enrolling clients, etc. After that, you spend the first 3 or 4 weeks with your District Sales Coordinator working out in the field, prospecting, making cold calls, doing presentations & hopefully enrolling new business. During this time, you are required to complete a lot of online courses, workbook study, quizzes, and readings. After you have completed the coursework and field time with your DSC, you are turned loose. There are weekly conference calls and training. Also, there is always a ton of training available on the Aflac employee website.

Corporate pep-talked trying to psych you into working for them for practically nothing. If you've been reading the news, Aflac is facing lawsuits for telling employees they're "owning their own business". Owning your own business because you're fronting all the costs to work there, but selling someone else's product, and when you do sell something, you get paid in the form of a loan in "advanced commissions".

The best and worst thing is that training is 3 months long.

Depending where you land in their hierarchical system, your training will have gaps. A website & day-trainings fill those gaps.

They try to get you prepared for making sales but not for actually understanding the product.

Thay have an amazing training program that is no cost to associates. Everyone is extremely willing to share their knowledge to those who seek it.
