Use it or lose it. While on vacation, you're expected to have your cell phone on you and respond to calls/emails.

At the end of 2014, the company mandated a new vacation policy where you had to use all of your "legacy" vacation before the end of the year or you would lose it; they offered a pay out at 45% which is practically losing it. The company allowed you to carry over 40 hours of vacation time from 2014 to 2015. Last week, they announced that those 40 hours MUST be used by April 1, 2015 or you will lose all hours NO PAYOUT OPTION. So we are being forced to use our vacation when we don't want it or need it......so it's no longer a benefit. What kind of a company forces you to use 40 hours of vacation before half of the year (and they just made us use up all but 40 hours before 12/31/14). So goodbye summer vacation with the kids or thanksgiving with family or christmas at home because I can't accrue that kind of time back. CSC is the worst company I've ever worked for and I can't wait to resign!

CSC dictates certain days you must take off, whether you have the time or use or not.

The worst thing about the Vacation benefit is being forced to use vacation hours at the end of every quarter.

It is a standard 2 weeks, as well as one week of sick time. Vacation increase depends on how long you have been with the company.

They just recently switched their vacation time and screwed over a lot of the old timers (5 years+).

Reduced vacation time, regardless of tenure and forcing employees to use their reduced time during holiday shut downs, to save costs.

Mandatory shutdown should not require the use of vacation days. And we used to be able to carry over the same amount that we earned in a year, but now that's gone.
