The good thing is that the company does a full match to what the employee contributes. Bad thing is that the company contributions vest after a 5 yr period

The plan seemed to be very good. I personally did not participate in their 401k plan but I know people that did and were very happy with the results

I don't think it's particularly better or worse than what's offered at other companies. I think it's common that you will have to pay a penalty if you withdraw the money earlier than the stipulated time.
