Company provides an overly expensive benefits package ONLY because they were forced to under the contract. Originally they wanted us to pay for benefits out of pocket at a $30,000 per year cost. 401k contributions don't start for a year. Company cannot and does not properly account for vacation hours, and staff does not respond to phone calls, emails, etc regarding any issues. Changes to 401k accounts to not occur and requires emails and phone calls to various supervisors and management to get anything resolved within less than a few months.

Health insurance plan offered to contractors by Apex is not compliant with current Obamacare minimum standards. This means that you will need to obtain health care coverage outside of the company or pay tax penalty for being "uninsured".

The best thing about the benefits, is that there are benefits. This is mostly contracting work. It pays by the hour, it does have a 401k and stock buying plan, but it is not the same as FTE.

pretty good benefits and if you need a day off to take care of something you can usually get it
if you take any days off you will have to pay it back unless you are there for 1 year

They pay okay and hours are decent. Some teams are nicer than other. The office itself is pretty big and its a comfortable environment to work at. Standard vacation every year.

I was better off getting medical insurance for my family from the health exchange.
