The insurance is expensive for a family plan, and offers very basic coverage, deductibles are high, co-pays enormous, just all around bad plan.

The best thing is that I can work from home 100%. This concept hasn't reached the mid-west yet. 2nd best is prescription plan - very low co-pays on all meds. Worst thing is this is a contracting company so there's no paid time off.

Since this is a contracting situation, Apex places the consultants in it's client sites and gives a hourly rate as salary. If the consultant likes good benefits. the hourly rate is set lower whereas if the consultant can arrange his own healthcare and other benefits, then the rate is higher.
