Employee Discounts

Best thing about the employee discount is that it is on a wide variety of clothing which changes weekly. When I was working there, I always had the best clothes.

Base discount is 20% on new items (exclusions are generally limited to collection, limited edition, and third party items. Sale and Clearance items are 50% off (this does include collection, limited edition and third party items e.g. Nike or New Balance shoes). All employees are issued a limited discount card entitling them to purchase full price J Crew items for themselves per month. Discount is the same for sister companies J Crew Factory and for Madewell.

It is good but since the price point is high it could go a little deeper on discounts.

It was a pretty decent discount. You get 40% off all sale items and 40% of 5 items per month.

It really depends if you work for J. Crew Retail or J. Crew Factory (unsure about Mercantile). I work at the J. Crew Factory store and we are constantly running promotions on all of our products. At times, we will have, for example, all men's shorts for 50% off; well, all employees get a 30% associate discount which may be applicable to the discounts already being ran that day.
