Sick Leave

You get I think 6 times to call off and after that you are written up. Once you are written up it doesn't matter if you have a doctors note or went into labor you still will be fired if you call off again.

If you had an appointment with a doctor they wouldn't let you take a sick day, they made you go on your free day even though it was for a valid medical reason.

If you are sick and call out, you either lose your shift completely or you use one of your vacation days.

You get 2 weeks paid sick time but management makes it difficult/makes you feel bad when you have to use it

Policy SAYS you're supposed to be able to call in sick, but the managers get mad if you do that. What they WANT you to do is show up sick and PROVE that you're actually sick and not "faking it", and then if they're in a good mood, they'll call someone to come finish out your shift and send you home. I don't get sick very much, but I know of at least four instances where my coworkers were running to the bathroom once or twice every hour to vomit and still had to work their full shift.

Depending on the manager. The first store I worked at had the manager who is now district manager and he was awful! You would need a doctors note or be written up for taking a sick day. The current manager I'm working under does not require that unless it's more than a day or two.

If you try to call out you are berated and asked if you can still come in, I don't get paid sick time so why would I fake it?
