When "training" I was just thrown into the sandwich line and expected to know everything. When I would make mistakes instead of telling me the right way of doing things management would gossip about me to all the employees before deciding to help me fix my mistake

The company I worked for which managed several stores was very unorganized. Subway corporate, however, has great training tools that any self-motivated employee can utilize.

They start you off with bread, and then move you to meats and vegetables. It was OTJ training, you just jump in and start doing it. It was kind of an adrenaline rush training at lunchtime, but you got a lot of practice, and the customers always told me I made the best sandwiches.

I feel as though everything covered in the online training program is almost guaranteed to be forgotten as the process is unnecessarily long; everything you could ever desire to know will be very easily acquired when you are on the job, shadowing your coworkers.

Worst thing is opening the bread because everyone has their own way to do it.
