Job Training

Once you become career you get 3 weeks paid vacation for the first 3 years, then 4 weeks for 15 years and after 15 you get 5 weeks. As a clerk if you volunteer to work holidays you can earn more vacation

Training in Louisville and on hands trying hey want you to succeed and once your therein seems like you go down hill

Training is great. Teacher are patient and understanding

the on the job training was great. it was done in three days. just gives you a feel for what job is, but is unable to see everything that goes on

Good as a casual worker getting the rate of pay during holidays. but the shifts are mostly graveyard and heavy lifting

The initial orientation and rural academy training is good. The trainers are all honest, engaged and caring. The LLV (truck) training should be longer - more road time would be good.

Whole week of paid training. Allows you to get your feet wet before hitting the streets. Maybe the best thing about USPS.

The training consists of taking a driving course using the mail trucks up in Charlotte, if you hit a cone you're gone and out no job for you. Then a very brief training with a regular carrier to show you what they do on their route. I was lucky and got a great teacher that was very nice and thorough, but some of my friends had a very poor experience. After that you're on your own. Assigned to one of 50+ routes on any given day and expected by management to finish the route within a strict timeline (even if you're unfamiliar with the route).

There is paid training. The training is hard on both you and your trainer if you have a weak sense of direction
