You learn the job in training, you learn how to do the job 'correctly' out on the route.

A few days spent doing 70's safety videos and then 3 days shadowing a carrier on their own route and in their case, which doesn't help the new employee learn anything about the rest of the routes in the station. Often CCAs are bounced to different stations and thrown on routes with no training and expected to figure it out without misdeliveries. USPS training sets new employees up for failure.

There is a lot of training but most of it would be more beneficial if conducted after you had actually begun working, rather than before you've had any on the job training.

Benefits can be really good if you stick with it. Health insurance is covered after 90 working days along with leave 3 hours of leave accumulated after 5 working days.
