I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at GameStop (Berkeley, CA) in Nov 2014
Interview
The manager I interviewed with was very laid back, friendly, and responsible all at the same time. Please understand that this might not be the case in your scenario as most managers I've talked to in other stores seemed to be very strict.
We went to the back office of the store, sat down, and spoke about the following things in order:
a. Why you want to join the team
b. Why you think you're a good fit
c. Your understanding of customer service
d. Your understanding of the clientele
e. How you would handle a difficult situation
f. Schedule
Overall, my manager made the process very easy, as if I was talking to a buddy that was seeing if I would make the cut for a group project that they were thinking of starting.
Very relaxed and friendly. Not formal at all. The process is speaking with the general manager and you get a breakdown of the company. It is a pretty standard interview but you know what is expected of you.
easy and behavioral, go with the flow, easy with straight up questions, 1st round phone call , 2nd round- hm, 3rd round- panel. 4th round- HR. and offer or declines
Asked to explain situations and experiences in day to day responsibilities you’ve had from previous jobs and what you can contribute to the team. I was asked to try and sell an item I personally didn’t like which was fun but unexpected
