Had a phone interview with the recruiter followed by a two hour in-person interview with four people on the team. Nailed the interview and felt really positive I would get the position. I had experience in the sports industry, my field, plus advanced education. However, I had to follow up after I was told I would hear back on next steps by a certain time and never did. Almost a month after my interview, I got a phone call from the recruiter. Although I thought I would finally learn about those “next steps” as promised, I was told they decided to move forward with other candidates with more experience. Not really sure if that was an honest excuse as to why I didn’t move forward, considering I had more experience than the job listing required. I had a positive experience until I was left hanging and strangely was told I didn’t get the position over the phone. I guess that’s better than being ghosted these days.
There was one recruiter screening in the beginning, and followed by 2 more interviews, one with a department lead and another with a VP. All were on zoom and the recruiter was very hands on.
