I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McGraw Hill (Albuquerque, NM)
Interview
1. applied online and was contacted within a week for a phone interview.
2. 45 minute screening interview with recruiter. Good questions about my sales and teaching experiences. Asked what i thought were 5 most important things about Sales? Greatest accomplishment in certain jobs? Challenges? When did I not succeed in developing good relationship with client?
3. Was recommended for next interview (1of 6 people). Met in person with District Manager. Conversation style interview about the job expectations. Glad I prepared with intelligent questions about the company, market shares, role and local department of education budget distribution systems. I was not one of the two chosen for the next phase of interviews with group of general managers for this job, but was recommended for other roles that might come up in the area with MH. Was asked why I got into teaching? Was told they wanted someone innovative and adaptive who could think outside the box and not stuck or limited in ways of approaching sales and relationships.

Question 1
None were especially difficult. Was asked in second interview about what really got me frustrated and red hot? I had thought about this and was prepared with what I thought was a positive spin.
First, you will have a 15 phone screening with a recruiter, very simple. If they ask still interested, they will schedule a 45 minutes to an hour interview that is mostly conversational with management. During the interview you will only be asked 6 questions.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at McGraw Hill (Jersey City, NJ)
Interview
There are a lot of touch points and Multiple rounds of interviews and can take some time before getting an offer. Typically starts with a phone screening and then an interview with the actual department. I interviewed with 4 people before HR called.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at McGraw Hill (New York, NY) in Mar 2024
Interview
I had an initial phone call with a terrific HR rep who discussed the job in detail and gave me an insight into the interview process. They gave me advice on how to best represent myself as well as offered advice in the future if needed.
I then met with my potential manager as well as a VP for an hour-long interview where we discussed my career path, the position, and what the job and training look like.
After this I had a sales pitch with three members of the team and I was given the opportunity to learn about the culture.
I was then able to have a phone call with a current employee in the position to learn more about the day to day and openly ask any questions.
I was then in the process of scheduling a day of shadowing while I was under consideration for one other candidate.
Overall I was not selected because my prior experience did not align and the company felt the other candidate would be a better fit.
I felt throughout the process as much as they were looking out for their needs they were also looking out to make sure that this position fit my needs as well.
