Interview
I applied for a Business Development Representative role in the UK after hearing great things about Mews’ culture and values. The process began on October 25th when I submitted my CV and cover letter. A week later, I was asked to submit a 1-minute video within three days, which I completed. Another week passed before I was invited to a Teams interview with the BDR lead. However, the day before the interview, I received an email stating that the company does not provide visa sponsorship, and my application could not proceed. I immediately clarified that I hold a graduate visa, which allows me to work in the UK without sponsorship for two years, but I received no reply until I sent a follow-up email. The response was brief and confirmed the decision without further explanation. I then sent another email providing feedback and expressing how I felt about the lack of communication but have not received a response so far. While I understand that policies may vary, I found it unprofessional to have my application canceled so late in the process without clear communication or explanation. Having invested considerable time preparing for the interview, I had high expectations based on the company’s positive reputation. Unfortunately, this lack of transparency did not reflect the "people-first" culture Mews is known for.

Interview
Applied for the role and was asked to record a Loom video as an initial step. After submitting the video, I was contacted for a first-round interview. The call was scheduled for 30 minutes but ended after about 15–17 minutes. From the start, the interviewer appeared disengaged and asked very few questions about my background. The interview focused primarily on testing my knowledge of the company, with limited discussion about the sales team or role structure. When I asked questions around quota, team size, territory/account ownership, and team performance, clear answers were not provided.

All the interviewers seemed genuinely interested in me not just as a professional but as a person. They asked great questions and were also very open in answering questions I had.
At each step of the process it was also very clear what the next steps were and what to expect.
