I have applied directly. Got called by the hiring manager who'd asked me to come in. They were happy to accommodate an interview after 6pm, although in the future I would find a way of coming in earlier to show a genuine interest in the firm. Three rounds. First quant questions and product knowledge. Was just about doable. Second round the team, just a general chit-chat, what are you working on, why move, etc. Last round HR interview. Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, teamwork. Found it rather tough.

Online test first, then direct to the assessment centre, and it is virtual: 4 parts, one is math, one ML, one behavior, and also some news/paper that was read, last one is coding.

CV based generic questions in round 1 followed by 2 technical rounds. 1 of the technical rounds was related to coding skills in python. The first round was very generic around skills or experience you mention in your resume.
First round was about CV. Interviewer gave an introduction about the firm, the team and the position. Asked some questions about my current role and CV. It was friendly and efficient.
