I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at NatWest Group (Gurgaon, Haryana) in May 2019
Interview
Worst interview process ever
First you will receive an invite to clear the online test, but if you don't clear it will do, coz when you say them it got auto submitted or deactivated they will call you to premises and will take a another test and you are through.
Now comes the second round, though you might not been informed but there are 99.9% chances you got landed in a walk in. Now whether or not you have given the previous test they won't give you any priority over those who haven't given the test.
Now comes the really wierd fact neither the interview panel nor the HR expected that many candidates (well I think they need to keep a check on the amount of mails they send or it might be a cron job), in other words for n vacancies they are calling n*18 candidates. So now we are at that stage where Technical discussion comes before case study (it was mentioned in reverse order in mail); in that discussion if you are 6-10 yrs experienced folk you can expect a question like difference between polymorphism and abstraction, mainly they were taking interview for the sake of taking it, it might be the case they got their perfect n peoples and don't want to say goodbye to other candidates, but why to waste another person's time. Then there is a case study round, in that too you can expect same kind of sake of taking it thing
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NatWest Group (London, England) in Jul 2026
Interview
I got a message from a recruiter in Linkedin regarding this opportunity and he organised the first step which was a 30mins of technical discussion with 2 people.
The first person (I suppose the dev manage) initially gave me a brief introduction about the company (5mins) and then we went through directly the second part of the interview without let me to any type of introduction of myself.
Then the second person started to ask me a lot of questions around Java, Thread safe, reactive paradigm, DS and cloud.
I felt in general the interviewer were to cold and detached (not really empathic) and the question too academic and low level.
I do not think in the real world scenario we really need to know exactly how an hashmap works internally but rather I would ask how to use it properly.
I was not really well prepared this kind of question I got rejected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Hashmap internal
Java overloading and overriding
Reactive concepts: Observable, backpressure
Thread safe
Future vs CompletableFuture
Java Stream: map() and flatMap()
Kunernetes namespace
G1 garbage collection
VPC
Average. Good discussion with them. Two rounds tech and one hr rounds. Went well and they said they will get back. Got an email for documents..post that I am still.waiting
at first Step I Applied For the Position on Linkedin and then the hr contacted me to ask about work eligibility
then:Email was Sent to me for an Online Technical Interview
