Interview Experience at New Relic
The overall interview process with New Relic was a great experience. The first round was an online test conducted at our college, which included MCQs based on technical topics along with a few aptitude questions and three DSA questions. The shortlisted students from this round were then invited for Technical Interview 1.
In the first technical round, the interviewer was very friendly and maintained a pleasant attitude throughout the session. He accepted my answers with a smile, which made me feel extremely comfortable and confident while responding. The focus of this round was mainly on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). I was asked questions on stack implementation, a dynamic programming problem (Longest Common Subsequence), and several Operating Systems (OS), Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS), and Computer Networks (CN) questions. The interviewer also asked follow-up questions based on my previous answers, which made the discussion more interactive and engaging.
After clearing the first technical round, I was shortlisted for Technical Interview 2. The second interviewer was equally kind and encouraging, which again helped me stay calm and comfortable. This round was focused entirely on my resume—we discussed my projects, certifications, and previous internship experience in detail.
Once I cleared the second round, I was invited for the HR interview. The HR round mainly assessed my communication skills and personality. The questions were mostly about my life, habits, and general interests. The interaction was very casual and friendly.
Finally, at the end of the day, I was informed that I had been selected.
Overall, all four rounds (Online Test, Technical 1, Technical 2, and HR) were conducted on the same day, and the entire experience was smooth, well-organized, and encouraging. The interviewers were supportive throughout, which made the process enjoyable and stress-free.
