Pros

It's hard to list them all: 1. Really smart people who are invested in the success of the company and the people around them. Lots of people to learn from. 2. Earnest desire to improve the lives of their customer, so we're always on the right side 3. Commitment to being good citizens. Sponsors of Pride parade, American Indian Services, Eyecare for Kids, Utah Food Bank, Tech Moms, charitable donation match to the charity of your choice, etc 4. Culture champions. Amazing benefits, personal development opportunities, etc 5. Equity. Every person in the company has equity and benefits when the company does well.

Cons

The optical industry has weird regulations. It means sometimes we have to spend time & money on things that aren't ideal for consumers or employees, but are required because of our industry. That part isn't as satisfying.

Pros

Met some awesome people at work and was able to work from home.

Cons

You’re just a number and that’s it. Management could care less about you or what you’re going through. You’re piled with a crazy amount of work and are expected to just be robotic and be a top performer- even though the stat structure makes no sense and you have no idea if they even have your numbers right each week. Every one-on-one with most managers is an hour biweekly about why you’re not doing great every single week and make you embarrassed about it. They expect perfection ALL THE TIME and you are glued to your desk all day. They watch your personal time like a hawk, even if you need to use bathroom or even drink water/eat food. Such an anxiety ridden place to work. Pay is terrible year after year and they hold a bonus over your head that is ridiculous to meet and easy to lose. They over promise and under deliver.

We’re sorry to hear this was your experience at our organization. No one should feel like a number, especially when a core value of ours is being Big-hearted. We’re as passionate about our people as we are our customers and the work that we do. Thank you for sharing feedback. We’ll continue working with managers and leaders to ensure an environment for our associates that matches our values. To any of our associates who may be going through a similar experience, please reach out to your HR business partner or any member of the People Department. Your experience matters to us.

Pros

Hours are relatively flexible, and the people are nice, currently remote but will likely change. May be selling soon so the payout could be huge if you have been there for a while.

Cons

Terrible pay for comparable job role, it's better than nothing but often a kick in the teeth when you are pushed to be on your A game for sale prospects that end up not being great. Sale culture in general just isn't appealing to most people unless you like it, then you don't make commission and pick up the slack when people don't feel like taking chats, therefore potentially doing more harm than good.

Thank you for leaving a review. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and concerns. We’d love to help provide some clarification. Our Customer Department has offered the option to work from home for well over a decade. Since 2020, we have associates working remotely throughout Utah and the country. Knowing this flexibility is a huge win for our people, we don’t anticipate this changing anytime in the foreseeable future. While our pay is competitive with the job market, we hear your frustrations. We encourage you to work with your manager or HR business partner to identify how you can take full advantage of our bonus structure and also maximize your pay through performance reviews. If you have any questions or concerns not addressed here, we encourage you to reach out to any of our HR business partners. We’re here to listen and help. Thank you again for your review.
