Pros

- Great training program for entry level recruiters! You learn a lot basic staffing, sales, and HR fundamentals, as well as get a good insight into the job market as well as the healthcare industry. - Very friendly coworkers, my direct boss was wonderful, as were the people who trained me! - This place is very forgiving to employees, especially newbies. - Fun office culture, but only if you're in their Michigan office.

Cons

Alright this is where it gets long so bear with me... Pay is SUPER low and you don't get to make commission at the start (the benefits suck too). They excuse this by telling you that "it's on you to make placements so that you can get promoted and make great commission!" But depending on what team you're on, this can be super difficult to achieve, mainly because some managers will gatekeep specific clients that have lots of opportunity for placements and high profit. If you're not on one of those teams... then sucks to be you and have fun recruiting in a poor job market with clients that don't have many jobs for you to fill. In addition to the low pay, you won't get any promotion or increase in your base pay unless you can reach a certain profit goal. They tell you you can make it in 6 months... you likely won't. Every entry level recruiter I knew that stayed long enough, didn't reach that goal until over a year later. Which wouldn't be such a huge deal if the pay wasn't so bad and they actually let you make commission right off the bat. Again, they like to put the onus on you for "not taking initiative!" The worst part, however, is the upper management. Like I said, my direct supervisor was fantastic, but be prepared to be met with crazy levels of micromanagement, dishonesty, and uncomfortable practices from upper management. The company prides itself on being a "family company", which is just a nice way of saying this place is run by the owner's nepo baby kids (go figure). They hit every "bad management" bulletin from bad cybersecurity, horrendous mismanagement of employees' personal info, and the encouragement of scummy recruiting practices that border on candidate harassment. The turnover rate for new recruiters is HIGH. They know this, but only surface level attempts at change are made. I think they like to maintain this status quo just so they can have a constant stream of new recruiters that they can underpay and get a nice chunk of profit off of before they quit. Despite my scathing review, shockingly enough, I can't say it's a regrettable experience if you decide to work for them. If you're desperate to get out of customer service or you're out of school and need a professional job, go for it! Your coworkers will train you up and take care of you, and it is a steady full-time job with decent job security. But once you get that "1-2 years of professional experience" on your resume that all "entry level" jobs need, it's time to move on to a proper job because there's nothing for ya at A-Line after that.

Cons

They give me a "contract" and stated after 90 days the company would hire me on full time. I was fired after the 90 days and A Line acted like they had no idea what was going on. They also had my quit my previous job several weeks early and pushed back my start date.
