Pros
It’s in a good location. Well connected- They managed to keep a major security incident out of the news so their stock didn’t drop.
Cons
If your manager leaves they hire someone that ‘fits’ their vision and you are essentially reset as a new hire for promotion and despite how long you have been there, you will not be considered until the end of year goals are evaluated. Their HR, like most companies, protects the brand and not the employee. Subject matter experts are ignored. They have a huge training budget, but spend it on corporate training rather than professional development. They had Trust training, and the ‘instructor’ continuously spoke of the war of northern aggression (I had to google that, it’s what members of the kkk call the civil war). They don’t care about turnover, since everyone knows hotwater has job security so they prioritize recruiting people who should be retired rather than keeping intelligent, innovating employees. ‘Early career’ hires are onboarded ~20k less than the actual market value, and their pay ranges do not make sense, a level 14 with a masters degree can make ~90k but a level 14 with an associates can make 95k… their ranges are not openly disclosed.
