Pros

Ability to work from home.

Cons

I was a top performing advisor for many years before getting promoted. I was told many lies by management about my new position, before ultimately being laid off during company downsizing. Other teammates that had been there for only a few months were chosen to stay over people that have been with the company for years! This company has no care or concern for top performing advisors, experience, or seniority. There is also no concern or investment in the training department. The company hires people outside the industry rather than promoting within, I can only imagine so they can pay less. Therefore, new employees will not get trained by anyone with experience actually doing the job, but people reading from a script on a screen. I worked at APFM for 6 years and had 7 different managers, so that tells you what the turnover is like. Management should be ashamed of the way the treat their employees, especially those with experience that brought so much value to the company. Their “values” are very nice to preach, however management has no inclination to abide by them.

Pros

None now, it used to be a company that I was proud to work for and proud of the service we provided to our families, no longer. My colleagues are pretty amazing!

Cons

Since I had no pro comments it leaves everything thing else in this category. No longer flexible, AT ALL! Constant harassment from senior management, literal harassment. The stress is unbelievable and the expectations of us during a global pandemic are completely unrealistic. Don’t think you can attend a wedding, birthday or anything for that matter if it falls on the last 2 days of the month, wait, now it is more like the last week of the month. The worst con is that they harass our families with constant phone calls and emails. This is already one of the hardest decisions to make and APFM does not care. I get this is a sales position and I have been here longer than I would like to say but these are human beings trying to navigate an already stressful, emotional time and APFM is not helping.

Pros

A work from home opportunity where you can help people.

Cons

This company used to be amazing! We used to do this ,yes to earn a living, but to help people and it was a wonderful place to work. I get it. We need to make money but it has now become only about the numbers. It's no longer fun. It's becoming a miserable place to work. We are no longer valued. Our leadership has changed and the company has lost it's heart. They spend their days micromanging us with unrealistic demands that take away from us being able to do right by the families we help as our first priority. They lead with fear and intimidation. We have some good people in management who have lost their way because of the change in our CEO. People don't enjoy working here like they used to. Hoping things will change and of course I'll write another review but right now it's a gloomy environment to work in.
