Pros

-Flexible schedule, good work-life balance -Friendly coworkers with big hearts (for the most part) -Casual dress code -People who work in HR are saints who go above and beyond for employees

Cons

A few months ago I would have told anyone this company was one of the best places to work. APFM seemed to really care about providing the highest quality services to their customers - the seniors and their families. In recent months the business and culture both haven taken a huge turn for the worse. After being bought by new investors (General Atlantic and Silverlake), terrible things started to happen to the company that primarily affected the Austin office. Respected senior leaders were fired or laid off one by one for no good reason, large groups of call center agents were laid off with very little severance pay right before the holidays, remaining employees live in fear every day that their job will be terminated, communication to employees is lackluster if it's there at all. The overall leadership driving the ship at the Seattle office is awful. C-level and Director-level executives care more about making money and making partners happy than they do about the REAL customers of the business - the seniors and their families. The company culture feels more fake than ever and employees are repeatedly lied to by leadership.

Thank you for your feedback. We do agree that our transition and organizational changes resulting in layoffs in our Austin office have been difficult for everyone involved. We understand these changes have real consequences for those impacted including you. While this is a difficult time for those involved in these transitions, the focus of A Place for Mom is around helping families find the right senior living solution for their parent or loved one through the support of a local Senior Living Advisor. This is at the core of what we do and will not change.

Pros

Have been working for APFM for 1.5 years Specific managers are incredible and very focused on the growth of those on their team. Casual work environment with flexible hours. Benefits are not superb, but they're okay. Three weeks paid vacation.

Cons

Seriously do not work here. Like just don't. The senior leadership team is horrendous and crumbling. They have such little respect for the people at this company and it hurts my heart. They fire entire clusters of people with no severance and no assistance without even blinking. The highest executive level is looking for "yes men." If you suck up and don't question them, then you'll be fine here. If you want growth and to contribute in a collaborative environment, this is not the place. When I started here, I loved it. I really did. But it went from 10 to 1 so fast. If you want a company that cares about you, your growth, and their goals then this is not the place for you. There is a total and complete lack of transparency here.

Thank you for your feedback. We value our leadership, and all employees who continue to help APFM serve families. We acknowledge that recent organizational changes have affected certain teams, however the focus of A Place for Mom is helping families find the right senior living solution for their parent or loved one through the support of a local Senior Living Advisor. This is at the core of what we do and will not change. Most employees love the culture and work that A Place for Mom does on behalf of families searching for the right senior living solution for their parent or loved one. This is our focus and the mission is rewarding for many.

Pros

- Okay Pay - The people in the tech org really care for eachother and are trying their best

Cons

- They're outsourcing most of the IT work. - Leadership is too busy to coach middle management. - Communication rarely makes its way down the chain until the last moment.
