This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for

Pros

None. I actually could not think of one good thing about this company.

Cons

Let's start with the basics. If they ever call you with an "Exciting opportunity to work in their corporate locations" then you need to run. Now. One of the higher ups, Brian O'Donnell, has some sort of psychotic obsession about sitting on front of a computer screen and watching every single move his employees make. You will have to do everything exactly right, otherwise he will berate you for no reason whatsoever. To make matters worse, you will have to attend a conference call every single night (which you aren't paid for by the way, so, you know, very illegal), on which he and some other higher ups in the company will insult you in front of your peers for absolutely no reason other than to make you feel bad. The culture that AAMCO tries to foster is one of complete and total control over their employee's lives. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. You will be forced to work 55 hours a week, minimum, and you will be extremely under-compensated for it. You will not be able to use any of your time off whatsoever, even though you've earned it. Now, they say that they care about you, and to prove it, they fly you out to a random suburb of Atlanta to attend a training course that serves no other purpose other than to force you to learn a phone script. Which, by the way, does not work. I saw them send home numerous people for simply not being able to memorize part of this phone script in the small amount of time they required them to. Brian is OBSESSED with this phone script. Here's the thing, it doesn't work. I got yelled at by Brian because I didn't tell someone who called in and said that they had a crack in their transmission that it could be computer related. No moron in their right mind is ever going to bring a vehicle into a shop that tells them their cracked transmission can be computer related. Yet these are the things that Brian and the rest of the AAMCO team love to berate you with. My best advice for anyone who is considering working for this horrible company is to run as fast as you can. HERE IS ABSOLUTE PROOF OF HOW BAD THEY ARE! Take a look at one of the reviews here. You'll see that AAMCO themselves responded to it. Read that, and feel the tone in it. AAMCO never believes that they can be wrong. The insulted the person leaving the review, and they appear to think it made them look better, when in reality, they refuse to take any blame for any issue that arises, and simply blame lower level expendable employees. Run far, far away from this company.

Horrible Company to Work For!

Pros

If you are lucky enough to find an honest, decent franchise owner the pay and work is rewarding...

Cons

Since AAMCO has lost over 250 shops nationwide the company has gone downhill and it shows. Owners that are now buying into this franchise have no clue on how to run a successful shop, treat employees, customers, and seem to think by getting the cheapest labor, non ASE certified technicians and managers it doesn't matter..Check the shops out before you have your car repaired to make sure the techs have current certifications, check the reviews, and do your homework. Too many innocent customers and employees are getting the shaft from unprofessional owners.
