For the most part, it was a good experience.

Pros

ABF is a stable company that is good to their people. They have been in business for 90 years and that does not happen by accident.

Cons

The level of micromanagement at ABF has grown to all time highs. They say "we do not like to micromanage our people" but in reality, you are measured on every metric possible. Leadership tends to use intimidation as their primary means of motivation.

Customer Service Is Key-ABF Is Locked Out!

Pros

Great pay compared to other industries and within this industry, or so I am told-many times by management.

Cons

Worst customer service organization I have seen. I pitty the sales reps because I can only imagine the headaches they must have trying to pick up the pieces with the customer when they are duped. Poor training structure for all positions at the service centers. Invest some money in training. Every new person has nowhere to turn. Hardly anyone knows anyone else's job or how to train them. Work/life balance is impossible unless you don't care.
