Pros

AGC is an exceptional place for anyone looking to jump into the world of Technology M&A. As a member of the Junior Team, you will get unparalleled deal exposure taking on genuine responsibility early on in your career with close guidance from Senior Analysts and Associates. As a Junior, you benefit from the strong deal flow of the firm, allowing you to work on multiple deals at any given time as well as regular Pitch-Deck work. This is extremely beneficial for your development as it ensures you get far superior deal exposure versus other Investment Banks, allowing you to fast-track your M&A skillset and rapidly grow your network. In addition to live deal work, you will benefit from weekly training sessions led by Associates and VPs, as well as regular Peer Mentor sessions to help reflect on your progression.   The intensity, entrepreneurial nature, and camaraderie of the firm makes AGC a genuinely exciting Company to work for. The firm continues to grow rapidly and has significantly expanded its presence in Europe, owing to its foothold in the Tech M&A market. I would highly recommend AGC to anyone considering a career within M&A Investment Banking.

Cons

As with the entire M&A industry, the hours are long and standards are high. This isn't for everyone, so you should take the time to consider whether Investment Banking is truly for you.

Pros

AGC’s boutique structure affords its junior team more responsibility and opportunities to grow than they would normally get at a larger firm. Exposure to senior management is high and hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. The culture is likewise healthy, furthered by semi-monthly outings that promote meaningful relationships with coworkers.

Cons

Long hours can make work/life balance challenging, but that’s more of a commentary on the banking industry than AGC specifically.

Pros

- Was able to better understand how M&A deals are made. Similarly, to all interns was involved in live deals, was responsible for daily reports on each deal, had a chance to work on a number of CIM slides and was given access to full information that pertained to deals. Was occasionally asked to do various tasks on other deals & pitches and had a chance to do a bit of financial modelling, ARR Analysis, Ratio Analysis. (Some menial tasks were involved but all seemed exciting to work on) - Supportive & friendly environment and a workplace where proactive approach, willingness to do additional/different tasks, to learn something new is always appreciated & welcomed. - Work hours for interns were extremely reasonable, Junior Bankers seem to work hours similar to industry averages (Company allowed employees to leave earlier on Fridays, which was a pleasant surprise). - Company organised a few social events and a one full day corporate event where we had a chance to interact with everyone including partners, CEO (who would meet with us quite regularly before the event as well) to perform a skit and to unwind at the end of the day with the Junior Bankers. 'Work hard, play hard motto' seems to be in place! - If you know what you are doing, plan to be proactive, appreciative towards an opportunity, AGC is a great place to be!

Cons

- Intern trainings were not always on schedule although most if not all were pre-recorded and easily accessible. - Daily research of a tech sub-segment industry, which all interns were involved in was not as exciting to work on every day, however at the end of it, tasks didn’t take up much time and one could always ask for extra deal work and would have been expected to prioritize it instead.
