Pros

Weekends off, PTO, Morning Job, work at home

Cons

This is a Call Center (was not told this in the interview!) and is Veryyyyy stressful job due to the NONSTOP calls, literally back to back! I counted and a call comes in literally less than 1second after the last, doesn’t even give one time to think or have a sip of water! Favoritism! You cannot move up unless your a team lead or manager friend or favorite(No room for advancement!) Stupid audits!! You have to follow a lame script that aggravates the callers Rude callers (some of these people are thee worst! You would second guess that they are “professionals”) Not good for empathic people(all of the negative energy and bad vibes from the callers will ruin your day!) Causes depression and anxiety 😥 I cannot wait until I get something way better and less stressful, my health had declined tremendously since working at AIM

Pros

Good salary and benefits, convenient locations for commuting, part of Anthem and it’s Diversified Business Group, but not at all aligned....doesn’t seem to fit in.

Cons

Culture, Parochialism, Incompetent Mid tier management. Many in mid tier and VP level management have been with the company from its inception, some for 15 years and are stale, unmotivated, and focused on preserving the status quo. Not a company that invites new ideas or approaches. They have a unidimensional business model but nothing that supports a vision for the future. It is unclear how they fit in to Anthem’s DBG business model. Some in management have no insight, motivation, or discipline to recognise emerging trends, or the important skills needed to be healthcare competitive. It’s about the status quo and preserve the present. Succession is based on who is there the longest and who has towed the line. Second hand information has it that the General Counsel of the company petitioned staff in a career advancement and mentoring program to submit positive reviews to Glassdoor to help push up the company rating, so if you see glowing reviews take with grain of salt. Some departments use the kids to run the show because of loyalty to status quo and managers, Be advised in some departments there is very very strong gender bias and restricted social circles. Look at the .org charts. Do not be fooled, this is not a technology company.

Pros

Extremely low workload. Great worklife balance. Nobody asks what time you come and go to the office. Pay and benefits are pretty good because of Anthem.

Cons

You are in this company who you are depending on who you know and how well you know. The way people get recognition and move forward in their career is not by their talent but by solely based on who they know in higher management and how well they know. Company is going through a massive transformation and has handed over complete control to consultancies, who are making a mockery of the organization. When all the funding is over, they will simply say goodbye and will leave the fte's in a giant limbo. This company gets massive amount of funding from Anthem and that is the only reason it is surviving in spite of wasting so much of resources.
