Pros

The salary and bonus structure is good but it doesn't compensate for the total lack of respect, poor management and the low morale you walk away with.

Cons

This division of Anthem needs to have Anthem corporate come in and clean out senior management ASAP. It is apparent that there is a problem when the worker bees of the organization are running out the door at lightening speed. There is major abuse of the budget and finances; "favorites" get to travel and expense unnecessary client trips which in reality are golf trips that the COO, CFO and other SVP favorites are actually on. There are also tons of expensive group dinners categorized as client outings with falsified attendee counts. There is abuse of employees with favorites being held at a different set of policy and procedures with blatant disregard for standard HR practices. The theme is that the hard working, individuals that pump out quality work are a threat and are treated as such. Degraded in meetings, embarrassed in front of their peers; instead of nurturing talent they push it away and nurture the bad seeds of the group. The frequency of how senior management throws anyone under the bus to cover up their poor management and decision making is disgraceful. All the above is a fraction of what takes place in this horrible organization. The bottom line is; you are making a mistake thinking there is any potential here. They will sink this ship. This senior management would never get away with this behavior at any other organization, including Anthem corporate, which is why they have stayed at AIM for so long. Eventually it will catch up to them and hopefully the quality worker bees will not go down with these tyrants up top.

Pros

The locations for each Illinois office are convenient. Also, the business analysts and front end devs are excellent.

Cons

Leadership thought it acceptable to threaten employees with reducing their yearly pay as punishment for incidents they never bothered to learn anything about.

No opportunity to advance for most.

Pros

Great benefits. Free catered lunches. Quarterly bonuses. Work independently most of the time.

Cons

Most unorganized company I have ever worked for. They are constantly promoting within a specific ethnic group. Yep. The entire Work Force Management team was handpicked without so much as a job posting or conducting interviews. After a shift in management, some of the Team Leads were also hand picked. They weren't even qualified to be Leads but because they were in a certain ethnic group they were chosen. It's dishearteneing. You have people that have been at this company 5,10,15,20,25 years that don't get the opportunity because they don't fall into this group. The audit system is a joke. They expect you to adhere to insane numbers and percentages. If you don't you get verbal warnings. You have to wait 6 months before you have another opportunity to move to Referral Specialist 2. They make it next to impossible to advance unless you are favored there.
