Pros
Didn’t need experience to get position, offered pretty intensive training. New HR is attempting to fix issues. For an entry level job, the pay and benefits are great for individuals fresh out of school or individuals that are not looking to move up in their career.
Cons
The company became very micromanaged. The atmosphere is very similar to high school: various individuals review your work and all have different expectations (one reviewer may say you’re doing a great job /without requesting any corrections; the same work could be reviewed by another individual who demands you throw the whole thing out and start over and make you feel incompetent), you get a grade on each item you submit which again depends on who reviewed it (so if the person doesn’t like you or your work, they will nitpick for errors and this could in turn reflect in your mid/end-year review/bonus/raise), someone literally walks around and takes attendance (if you are more than five minutes late on any given day, you may receive a passive aggressive email), the Hudson office is a terrible location (the only view from the minimal windows shows the turnpike, is a very old building, ceiling leaks, there’s rumors of rats), team leads on some projects will send out your name and specific work examples listed as the worst work of the week (“lowest” or “didn’t meet expectations” is their verbage) to the entire team explaining exactly how many times you “failed” and the notes accompanying the failure. Toxic environment. No work/life balance. If you have harder cases to work than others, expect to work weekends. Some cases take minutes others take hours to days, depends on what project and the luck of the draw. Your coworker could fly through six in the time it takes you to tackle one, and vice versa. If you get a holiday off company wide, you’re still expected to hit the same production numbers, so again, you need to work over the weekend or come in on the holiday anyway. Hardly any opportunities to move up in the company. Your position is what it is until you leave the company. However, once you show you can handle more work, you will be doing extra work at the same position level with the same pay. There’s a hundreds of people with your position, so they could easily replace you and do not seem to care about turnover. When the projects need higher numbers, they hire a bunch of people, and when they’re done with them they fire in massive groups. They will even do a townhall styled meeting explaining they’re not firing anyone, then fire people weeks later. When the company lost their biggest client, after firing a bunch of people, they put the individuals left without work to do in a training program. The trainer was the most unprofessional individual they could put in the position. She would make racist comments and push her political opinion. Even once stopped what she was doing to say “Breaking news....” and read the political update from her phone. Called out individuals who were not paying attention as a high school teacher would, then go on a rant about how we were lucky to even have jobs anymore at a company firing so many people.
