Low salary and allowance. Didn't provide technical training for Production Engineer but on call. Always asking Engineer overtime on weekend and night shift. Low wage adjustment per year. Unofficial define good performance rate, wage adjustment, training to specific person. Shortage resource which company didn't develop employees. Junior team leader advocate elbow culture to Engineers.

Current local management is very good and accommodating given the amount of travel.

Cons

Pros

Good pay Very supportive and cooperative work environment Extremely intricate and precise engineering will test your knowledge Huge trove of training materials and in person classes

Cons

Work space needs upgrade. Cubicles and carpet look rather old. Engineers can sometimes be bogged down by documentation and not really focus on design work.

Pros

People, intriguing problem, precision improvement, continuing education policy, medical, vision, dental, 401k, holiday, vacation, and shift differential. ASML is a great company and lithography is an interesting problem to solve. If you are interested in this aspect of the semiconductor industry there is no better lithography company.

Cons

Computer Based Trainings, internal fab communication between groups, and improvement approach. The way you are assessed is stressful. Learning various aspects of the machine is best learned hands-on or in training not during a 1 hour lecture or by computer based trainings. The local fab team always needs to pick up the slack for the upgrades team and install team. In addition, the part ordering process is a problem. Management has been doing a good job realizing these issues though. The approach to improvement seems to be very customer driven, make smaller transistors, which is why ASML commands majority of the lithography market. Unfortunately, the same software problems go unnoticed model to model and energy efficiency: energy input to energy output is ignored.

Pros

Dynamic internal switching environment means lots of open positions to choose from after 2-3 years in a single function. Compensation is among the highest in the Netherlands. Working hours are slightly flexible. Limitless personal training opportunities.

Cons

Huge companies suffer from internal communication problems. If a project or document needs approval from more than one department, it's going to be real slow to resolve. Also, ASML is a company that continuously runs from one project/problem to the next and never looks back. If your problem is idle for more than 3 months, you should almost know that it's going to be left behind.

Pros

One of its research and manufacturing sections is located in Wilton, CT, on the Eastcoast of US. ASML has its main section in Dutch. The colleagues are quite nice and creative. I enjoy the corporate culture in this company. Another thing that I appreciate this company brings me is the soft skills trainings, which is very helpful for personal development as well. I think it is a good company to develop a nice career path.

Cons

You can be confused at the management structure at the very beginning, especially as a new employee. But gradually, I start to figure out the advantages of current managing structure. This can help company keep productive while value people at the same time.
