Pros

Good commission if you can make sales quota monthly

Cons

Not allowed to take the time to give good customer service if there are no sales involved. Have to go right into sales, no time allowed to acknowledge reason for customer calling or even to act like you care about what the customer needs. Managers listen to all calls and if you do not do what they say you will have displinary actions taken. On every call if you do not follow assuptive selling techniques you will be let go. This means as soon as you answer the call you go immediately into saying so you need to add a line or who are we adding today? You do not try to resolve any issues that got that customer to call in that day, you try to force them into adding more to their account instead. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ONLY SALES!

Pros

It was an amazing company to work for when it was Ameritech. When SBC purchased it…everything for non management employees went downhill.

Cons

Big Brother company. Constantly implemented ways to reduce benefits and compensation (ie…7 sick days & 2 weeks vacation when I started was reduced to 0(zero) sick days & 2 weeks vacation that you had to schedule a year in advance at the end of my employment). FMLA must be used if ill, if not used, a strike was received. 3 strikes was suspension pending termination. The company did not care about mental or physical health of non management employees. No work/life balance (ie…recurring mandatory overtime).
