Bad Place to Work!

Pros

I cannot think of any pros. Maybe that you can be an overpaid leader and not do anything.

Cons

Do NOT believe these (clearly) fake reviews!! Good place, great place to work, etc. These are fake reviews they beg certain people to do. Ask for certain department's turnover information. Everyone leaves. They pay for these surveys no one takes seriously, like best place to work. It is horrible. Leadership doesn't communicate. HR doesn't communicate. They have so many people in these areas who don't do anything! People are hired and leave quickly. Constant revolving door. Stay away unless you enjoy: science company who doesn't like to innovate, working ridiculously long hours with zero recognition, enjoy having leaders take credit for your work and research, don't need money (pay is astronomically low and rumor is our raises will be even LOWER this year). No cost of living increases (they say they look at pay every year. Then when you ask about a specific role, "oh we haven't looked at THAT one". Then never get back to you). Benefits are garbage and they rant about how great they are. 401k & vacation is standard.. nothing to brag about.

Pros

Some people have nice offices

Cons

Why are coworkers there one day and the next they are gone? Why does management not explain their absence? They expect the sheep not to notice. Why are they not credited for the work they do after they are no longer present? It’s because the management is taking the credit. Aren’t you curious? If you ask any former employee should I work there? their immediate response is, “NO”, ask them why? They can’t discuss. Totally sus. Employees are encouraged to not go to HR. Either you toe the line, accept the blame for terrible management decisions, and absolutely do not think for yourself or have an opinion and you will be a rockstar at this company. Do yourself a favor don’t believe the hype. They are a small grain of sand in a very big ocean.

Decent place to start

Pros

great coworkers, a good amount of vacation time, immediate supervisors tend to be personable and understand, and an awesome commute (depending on where you're driving from)

Cons

Poor compensation "because it's a nonprofit" Upper leadership is tone deaf and sees employees as disposable. The company is at times antiquated and makes a big deal out of doing the bare minimum for employees (like giving us benefits). The salaries are also well below the average for the field. A high turnover rate is seen here.
