Pros

Provided opportunity to work on some very large technically complex systems that provided multiple challenges to be able to close.

Cons

Poor Engineering and QC, often re-engineered and fixed in the field Little respect for senior level employees that successfully built the SPL side of the merged firm. Unreasonable staffing/schedule expectations. Unhappy staff and clients resulted.

Pros

I'm told it was easy to transfer to different jobs (My experience was there was so much office politics and good ole boy mentality it made that sort of thing virtually impossible). Benefits were 'OK'. it's the largest A/V integrator in the world, so there's always work... And sometimes some very interesting projects/places.

Cons

Horrible corporate culture full of cool-aid drinkers. Good ole boy office politics. Upper management played the 'worst economy since the depression' card to deny reviews and raises to all but their personal favorites for YEARS, aside from the fact that the recession didn't affect us as much as you'd think. I was there for over FIVE years and never saw a single review, which were supposedly mandated by HR. Promises of promotions or being able to post to other jobs was always blocked when they eventually bait-and-switched to hire some kid just out of school for cheaper. Work/life balance was good in the beginning, but eroded progressively over the course of years... I got cut loose in a management change when they decided to clear house, hoping cutting loose the squeaky wheels would somehow improve their destroyed morale. It didn't.
