Pros

The pay is good, and the benefits are excellent. The online training is very helpful, as is a helpful manual. Most of the merchandise is of good quality, if not top of the line.

Cons

There is a lot of pressure to "make your numbers." The management style is to keep reminding employees that there are plenty of people out there who would like their jobs. The manager trainee not only is responsible for coaching people into better payment behavior and to collect money, but also to go on deliveries, returns, empty the trash, and clean the bathrooms. If you don't buy an Aaron's shirt, then you must do all of these dirty tasks in a shirt and tie. There is a lot of pressure to do online classes while simultaneously performing your job.

Pros

Health benefits starting after 90 probation period. I was very satisfied with how quickly the hiring process went, from initally filling out application, taking drug test, to offer being presented. Physical labor :).

Cons

$1 over minimum wage for labor and discrunted customers. 45 hours per week required by management. Excessive micro-managment displayed. I was offered a manager trainee position. After being with the company sales manager and account manager positions are blown up titles, and should be called sales associate and account specialist, based on rate of pay and job description.

Pros

Base pay isn't great, but if you reach your goal every month you have the opportunity for great bonuses. All General Managers and Regional are super nice and easy to talk to. You do work until 9pm some during the week but they close at 5pm on Saturdays, and are closed on Sundays and on holidays which is rare in retail. Aaron's is also the best in it's field, because it has lower prices than competitors and helps their customers to acquire ownership of their merchandise.

Cons

If you don't like calling customers about past due bills or going to visit them at their houses when they don't call you back, then you won't make it in management. Also have to return customer's merchandise when they get behind on their bill and won't pay.
