Pros

Pay is standard for industry. Fascinating subject matter to work with. Paid Snacks WFH days

Cons

Executive team seems disconnected from progressive culture. Some projects left unfinished. Growth is valued over other developments almost to a detriment. There is a lot of pride that gets in the way of being realistic and transparent. Management tends to prefer to completely remove an entire policy instead of modify or update it.

Pros

There are a couple of very intelligent senior developers in the team from whom I have learned a lot - they are good mentors and doesn't hesitate to share their knowledge with the rest.

Cons

The development team is structured in a way that developers (or quality assurance analysts) do not have much say about design, processes, and work flow. Everything is decided by one or two people higher up and enforced through business analysts. Your ideas and suggestions as a developer doesn't matter. So Absorb is not a fit if you are looking for a place where you can be innovative, think critically, and work in a collaborative manner. However, it is an ok place if you are willing to do as told without daring to question it. Scrum process was introduced this year in the development team which was supposed to help all team members work collaboratively. Unfortunately the new processes are not really followed. The business analysts still decide everything, dismisses and/or mocks other team members' ideas when feeling insecure. They are not willing to give up any control as part of new process and will do anything to push out critical thinkers and label them as not being team players. All of this has created a very tense and toxic work environment.
