Lots of freedom as you don’t have to report to any boss or any office.

No pay raise ever. I tried asking and they said they don’t do that.

What training?

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

You have more of a say over your schedule.

Cons

No hands on training, I'm not exactly sure what's expected of me. I thought this was companionship, ADL to temporarily relieve family caregivers, and support client independence; not catheter changing, bowel programs or spongebaths... but with no certifications my client expects me to know how to do those tasks anyway. frequently leaving me embarrassed and confused. Being an in-home caregiver means there is no one to show or teach me how to do anything.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you appreciate the flexibility in scheduling, but we’re truly sorry that you haven’t felt fully prepared for your role. Training and support are essential, and we understand how challenging it can be to navigate tasks without hands-on guidance. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will share your concerns with our leadership team to explore ways to improve training, especially for equipment like the Hoyer lift. If you’d like to discuss your experience further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our HR department. We appreciate the care and dedication you bring to your clients and want to support you in every way we can.
