Pros

Acero Precision is a great “foot in the door” to the manufacturing industry. They will hire you with little experience and facilitate your training until you are able to stand on your feet as a successful employee. They provide high quality uniforms and expect everyone to look nice at work. They want to present the company in a positive look. A few of the people who work there are very nice and they try to form a good work environment.

Cons

The company failed to follow all CDC guidelines. It puts employees and their families at risk and puts the success of the company over the safety of their workers. If you’re not a manager, supervisor, or have any big meaning to the company, they will shoot you down first and no consequences in any given situation goes towards those who have “bigger” meaning to the company. Nobody’s perfect, but HR is very disorganized. They don’t listen to you when you come to them with a problem and even if they take the time to listen nothing gets done to fix it. They put more effort into making the place look nice than fixing actual issues that the company is constantly struggling with. Another issue that Acero has struggled with for a while is that you have to fight for your pay. At least in my case they never offered me anything for my hard work. They will just wait until you say something and then often try to pressure you to take less.

A modified version of this post is also on Indeed. But in that posting the former employee was an inspector. We welcome the opportunity to respond to feedback from current and former employees, however, it is time consuming to “set the record straight” for false and unfounded accusations. It is very difficult to honestly address this review. The alleged “former employee” states clearly that Acero Precision is a great place to start a career and we do everything possible to allow the employee to be successful. End of story and thanks for the compliment. The accusations about CDC guidelines are simply false. As a company, we have partnered with our workforce to protect all employees and their families. Our track record in this regard is outstanding and we will never stop doing more. Our HR or PeopleOPS department strives to be the best. We agree no one is perfect but it does not prevent us from trying to improve how we support the entire team and their families. There is no “class system” at play in Acero Precision. Everyone counts and all inputs are invited. To suggest otherwise clearly demonstrates the strong possibility that the reviewer did not work here. Finally, every employee negotiates a fair and competitive wage at the start. We also have an annual review process. We do this because it is important to reward great people and great performance.

Pros

Acero Precision- Where technology meets opportunity! In my seven months with Acero, I have truly felt at home! This is an excellent company to work for. Great benefits including medical, hours, resources, technology and a truly dedicated staff. I can't stress enough the great technology and additional resources that the company provides. From great machines and tools, to world class inspection and measuring equipment, you know you are going to learn some great things from day one. At Acero, you are in the drivers seat of your opportunity. While some places micro-manage training and restrict it, Acero lets you learn, grow and develop in order to help this company thrive. Management is completely up front about what they are looking for here, and if you in return are the same way, both sides can develop together for the greater good of the company. Management is easily accessible on any shift and HR has an open door policy. The company has a great bonus plan and a great referral plan! Whats not to love?

Cons

I have yet to find a major con that would prevent me from wanting to work here, or that I think would make others feel that way. As long as you bring it every day, everything will work out!

Pros

The floor managers and workers all do their jobs very well, and produce excellent parts. The manufacturing which this company preforms is second-to none, and is in extremely high demand. They have had extremely high growth in sales in the past 10 years, even during the recession of 2008. The people you will work with on the floor are excellent, extremely skilled, and helpful. Almost all employees have never been to college, yet after a few years, are making the equivalent of a college graduate. For this reason, this company is very unique and has huge growth potential if you are willing to learn. Overall, the internship was an excellent learning experience, with excellent pay.

Cons

The senior management/owners need to realize that they cannot preform at the rate which this company is growing. The only reason this company is still around, is because they produce excellent products, have always had positive sales growth, and the products they make are in very high demand. Yet the company is at the point now were it needs to be run by successful business people, and not the owners themselves. The owners only focus on the bottom line, and not the well-being of their employees, as all employees (except the owners of course) are required to work 9 hour days, plus every other Saturday. The owners will occasionally bring in a food truck for a free employee lunch, however most employees still feel very overworked, and wish they could spend more time with their families. The owners know this, and will often increase pay to keep the employee around, yet this still doesn't come close to the value of spending more time with family.

This intern turned CNC machinist (FTE) has detailed a number of outstanding reasons why Acero Precision is a great company. “ Manufacturing second to none, extremely high demand, high growth thru a recession, excellent skilled staff, pay equal to degreed graduates, excellent learning experience” – all true The “Pro” notes are spot on and extremely complementary but the conclusion and advice just don’t add up. So the question is - who is responsible for this success? If not the owner – who? The Founder and CEO started this enterprise at age 22 attending Drexel University in 1983 and has never stopped building Acero. We are world class medical device manufacturing company. There have been no other partners or executives leading this operation since the start. Under this consistent leadership Acero has grown 50% in gross revenue and the staff has grown from 70 to 95 since the time of this review. So? Sometimes we just seem to think we know more than we actually do. To quote the immortal George Costanza “…people think I am smart but I am not.”
