Pros

I didn't stay long enough to see any Pros . The few people I meet seem like good Hard working people , but they also seem to be very unhappy .

Cons

I realized two weeks into my employment that I made a Hugh mistake . I have worked in the manufacturing industry for over 20 years and I have never seen such unprofessionalism at the management level . The General Manager ( COO ) , works maybe 5 hours a day and has no leadership ability . The HR dept. Is ran by the president ( owner ) , that alone tells you all you need to know . During my short and forgettable time employed at Acero I did have chance to meet a few nice people , all with less than 2 years of employment , most of the employees are actively looking for new jobs . A very high rate of turnover , hundreds of people have gone thru that place . Change your career before taking a job at Acero .

Acero Precision values all posts on Glassdoor. However, it is difficult to respond to comments made by someone who admits to being here for just a short period of time. There must have been a compelling reason for a 20+ year manufacturing veteran to choose Acero Precision in the first place and we are sorry it did not work out for them. One business magazine claims that up to 70% of the workforce is dissatisfied with their job. Another business publication asserts that millennials want to change jobs every three years. These are challenges for our industry. Every company is experiencing them. At Acero Precision, we just never stop thinking of ways to make things better for our workforce. Maybe if this employee would have stayed they would have understood the benefits of working for Acero Precision.

Pros

Not one..the other employees are the only good thing

Cons

Owner does not care about his employees. Will work you to death for 55 plus hours a week. No social life whatsoever. If you see any good review about this company it’s because the owner and HR went around to every employee and asked them to put up a good review. Insane!

This owner does care about his employees, the customers we serve and the community we live in. The support for employees is demonstrated through highly competitive wages, outstanding benefits, tuition reimbursement, uniforms, skills training, a state-of-the-art-facility, an emphasis on work/life balance, career advancement, a team-centered workplace culture, and the opportunity to be your best. In addition, all of our production employees are eligible for overtime and are encouraged to make the best decisions for themselves and the company.

Loyalty is repaid

Pros

I have worked for Acero for a while, people have come and gone. While they have very little tolerance for mistakes, they appreciate and do reward loyalty with loyalty. They are an old fashioned type Company in some of the best ways. Yes, the Owner certainly does at times micro manage (his prerogative) they also know their employees, never deny time off for personal issues, extend support in times of hardship, and are even protective of those that have a consistent record of working hard for the Company. Yes, there are times when the pressure of maintaining success is a weight felt from the top down, but there has also been many times when they have offered a reward to celebrate a victory (Lunches, breakfast, profit sharing, parties, events etc.) overall I am grateful for the experience.

Cons

Often the single biggest issue is the middle managers interpersonal skills. While they may be knowledgeable about machining, they are often petty and bullying particularly to younger cell members, and can create an atmosphere that is not conducive of optimum production. They often will "throw someone under the bus" in situations where they failed to adequately supervise the person or the person clearly lacked the required skill or experience to do the requested task. They also fail to listen to those with experience doing particular jobs which often leads to bad parts or unnecessary waste creating greater overhead costs unnecessarily.

Our word is our bond. Our Ownership lives this each day. For the most part it is repaid but even when it is not the company always lives up to its commitment. Thank you for recognizing an attribute you cannot find just anywhere. We have invested time and training into our floor leaders. And we will continue to do more. Our PeopleOPS department is led by individual with more than 20+ years of organizational development and management training experience with some of the largest employers in the country. This year we will be launching the first phase of Acero University – an internal platform to upgrade the skill competencies of machinists and managers throughout the company.
