Pros

Working in the Freedom Debt Relief department as a certified debt consultant is a great job where you assist clients with their debt problems. It is a typical call center environment, but its great opportunity to be in sales and also be able to help people at the same time. Comp plan is very rewarding for those who work hard and are willing to put in overtime. Freedom Debt Relief is a great job for those who are looking for a rewarding phones sales role.

Cons

There was a change in leadership about a year ago and ever since the leadership group has become extremely political and full of blatant favoritism which has dented the culture of the sales leadership team. Brand new team leaders who the new director likes get paid more the first day they get promoted than team leaders who have helped build the company and lead teams for years. Everyone on the floor talks about it except to the senior leadership team because of the political ramifications if you bring up anything regarding fairness.

Pros

Recently I was place in a horrible position, financially. I was given no notice of my roommate moving out and now had to come up with $1100.00 plus utilities on my my own in a week. I was on the verge of being homeless. I told my HR rep with my employer, Freedom Financial, my circumstances. I have lived with Lupus and Fibromyalgia my whole life- and the recent stress has made me very ill and due to this I've had to miss work. I just didn't know which way to turn. My HR rep informed me of a fund that Freedom has for when employees wear jeans. The employees donate money into a fund to help other employees who are going through hardships. I needed not only rent, but also a car that I would have been able to obtain if my roommate had stayed. Without a means for transportation, my illnesss' have only seemed to get worse because of the sun and heat here in AZ (it's been 120 on some days) I've had to walk or wait in the heat and sun- for a bus to get me to work and home. Freedom was able to get the money from said fund to not only help me pay my last months rent here in this apartment, (moving to a one bedroom in August that I can afford on my own) but also enough to be able to assist with getting a car. This company and the people who work here, has changed my life. In no way shape or form did they have to do any of this for me. However, they have. I have NEVER worked for a company that cares so much for their employees. I have had so many opportunities to excel with Freedom and I've also been so blessed to be apart of a company that cares so much for the human condition. They truly help people and I can say this without a doubt in my mind, they are truly the best company to work for. Not only do they change lives for millions of people by helping them out of debt, they also change lives for their employees. I'm just beyond thankful for each and every person that has made a difference in my life and career at Freedom. A special shout out to those who have changed my life for the better with this company- Krista Heffley, Diane Sanders , Mike Boyle, Jake Fullmer, Jason Pac, David Mitchell, Alex Adams (who referred me 2 years ago to work here) and the numerous employees that I work with. Also, I want to thank Brad Stroh and Andrew Housser for hiring the best people to help our clients but also to help our employees in situations like this. i thank you gentlemen so much for making Freedom my family. I just can't thank you all enough. Much love - Heather Foy

Pros

It all depends who you work for over there.

Cons

I was terminated for complaining to my boss that I felt as though he was belittling me because I was female and had gone to him with an issue I discovered while working, and rather than listening he laughed in my face and basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about. The thing is, my credentials and education are far more sophisticated than his. Between the two of us, I was the only one qualified for HIS position. My first day I was told I had an hour lunch and could take it whenever I wanted. The next day I took my lunch and took a nap during it. No big deal. Wasn't late getting back. I mentioned it to my boss. Two days later I get called in for a meeting with HR because my boss had told them that I had been taking hour lunches when he told me I only had 30 minutes and that I was sleeping on the job. W.T.F? HR wouldn't even listen to me when I was trying to explain, that simply wasn't the truth. After he laughed at me I texted him during lunch telling him I felt as though I wasn't being taken seriously because I was a female. He went to HR with this text and HR said it showed that I "had a pattern of inappropriate behavior" and fired me over it. The fact I felt like I was being treated differently infuriated them.
