Pros

• Frequent OT • Basic Health Insurance

Cons

• Poor communication from management/ Badmouth/ Shouting people’s names in the office to command staff who might be in the lounge during their breaks/ Yelling at staff when a proper training was not provided and does not explain thoughts in a reasonable way/ management speaks as fast as possible that creates barriers to listening and understanding in communication for new hires • Disorganization/ Lack of strategic planning/ Procrastination/ Last minute communication • Expect to have no professional boundaries and face few rude and aggressive co-workers and teachers at work on a daily basis/ an office manager was throwing a pen toward you as a new hire and laugh at the same time/ a teacher loudly ban a shelve in the classroom when reminded of start time for a 10 minutes break/ few teachers persistently speak only Spanish when diverse children and teachers are presented in the classroom and it’s not a bilingual school/ few teachers create hostile and discriminated working environment by speaking a language not everyone can understand in the classroom / toxic co-worker who likes to backstab and gets ahead no matter what and lacks of integrity/ a teacher yelled when she wanted to take advantage of 15 minutes break when it was actually 10 minutes and demanded a breaker to finish all the diapers she was supposed to change/ the same teacher spent 38 minutes for an actual 10 minutes break without any consequences from management • Outdated and poorly maintained facility and learning materials presented in the classrooms ( yellow water came out from a facet and that was supposed to be where filtered water came from for infants to drink) • Teachers were shouting and yelling at children because over crowded toddler classrooms ( up to 20 under two year olds enrolled in one classroom with only one fully qualified infant/toddler teacher paired with 4 aids who just graduated from high schools.) • Poor quality of early childhood education because excessive amount of aids hired who have no prior professional background regarding what they should do and how they are supposed to talk to children in the classrooms. • Actual work does not align with what discussed and “promised” at job interviews and as a new hire. My actual daily work as an office administrator is consisted of giving breaks and lunches most of the time. Rarely, I was working as an Office Administrator in the office, which prevented me from learning what I wanted to learn at this job. Minimal growth opportunity and not positive about my career development at this job • Management tolerated rude behaviors from teachers and that demonstrated it’s ok to be rude and continue their poor behaviors/ poor working culture • Daniel of 401 K although management handed you a benefit package that clearly written there was a 401 K • No PTO payout on my final paycheck/ they probably do not provide any PTO although their job post shown PTO as a full time employee benefit when I interviewed • Extremely high turn over rate. In my short 3 month employment, I evidenced at minimum of 10 new hires and old staff leaving the Allen site. • Low Moral/ Constant hearing negative comments about management from teachers at my work / not sure if the teachers really like their jobs

Pros

The gratification from seeing the children grow and develop

Cons

Constant lack of communication, which is often blamed and pinned on the teachers. It feels like the admin team is distant and unhelpful. There isn’t much of a “thank you”/appreciation from them despite the headache and toil that teachers experience on a daily basis, which makes it difficult to feel motivated to go to work. It definitely shows in the very low employee retention. Almost 10 teachers have quit in the last year.
