Pros

The best part of my time at the company was the team I worked with, including both my peers and managers, as well as the colleagues I partnered with across other groups. Their support, camaraderie, and willingness to help one another were the reasons I stayed as long as I did, even as the broader culture began to decline.

Cons

Adswerve does not offer compensation or benefits that are competitive with the wider market for software engineering roles. It is understood that companies focus on profitability and meeting quarterly goals. That is reasonable. The issue at Adswerve is the inability to pursue those goals while maintaining a healthy and stable workforce. The company is currently struggling financially, and in the second half of my employment this became increasingly clear. That reality, paired with below-market pay, influenced my decision to leave. The company’s public messaging has also grown increasingly disingenuous, emphasizing people-first values and DEI commitments that do not align with the day-to-day experience. Even if engineers may feel somewhat insulated due to the value of their work, many colleagues in other teams are left feeling uncertain about their job security. This sense of instability affects the entire workplace. I once found Adswerve’s retention rate impressive, but the rising turnover became impossible to overlook. Economic downturns and layoffs happen, yet there is a limit to the indifference and poor management a workforce can reasonably absorb. After learning about the most recent rounds of layoffs, I felt it was important to share this review as a caution to others.

We regret to hear that your experience during this period of strategic transition was challenging. We understand that change is difficult, but our commitment to transparency means recognizing that necessary evolution involves tough decisions. Please know that these adjustments are proactive steps to accelerate our future and ensure greater prosperity, not a reflection of financial distress. Following a clearly laid out growth plan, we are pivoting toward high-growth capabilities by strategically rebalancing our talent and investment. This evolution is designed to deliver new solutions to our clients and bring development opportunities for our team, aligning everyone with the critical capabilities for Adswerve's future. While this included the difficult elimination of some roles, we have done our best to support and care for our departing team members through comprehensive packages and resources. We wish you the best in your career journey.

Pros

- if you are on the media side, it seems like a fine place to work. Clock in and clock out mentality. - you get free shirts sometimes - there are some great people who work there, but they are being pushed out by improper management

Cons

- acquisition from 2 years ago still leaves a giant gap in company - leadership is laughably out of touch, and continues to increase goals past unrealistic expectations even during a pandemic - if you are interested in analytics/cloud/dev/etc. STAY AWAY - primary leadership is just white men who value homogeneity - departmental leadership is like a toxic relationship, riddled with guilt and gaslighting - they are not a company that cares, just a normal company. However they market themselves as caring for their employees

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. Adswerve is always striving to be in a place where employees can feel safe to share their thoughts and opinions with leadership. Our people and culture will always be our number one priority and driving factor, and we're disheartened to hear you feel this way. We also appreciate the comments on team integration and company goals. While we’ve made great strides, it’s a continuing process to build bridges between the media, analytics and cloud services teams. Cross-team collaboration is one of our key objectives, so hearing about divisions between teams is disappointing, but your honest feedback is appreciated. Please know that your HR team is available to hear your concerns anytime and we encourage you to talk to whomever you feel comfortable bringing these concerns to, whether that be your manager, HR or a senior leader. We are here for you and would love to discuss this further.

Pros

- Great team members, and members of lower leadership that want to see you succeed and grow. - The fact that everyday I log on puts me one day closer to finding a job I love and a company that isn’t Adswerve

Cons

- Upper management is out of touch. If you try to respectfully offer them feedback on initiatives and such be prepared to be reprimanded. It’s like whatever you tell them goes in one ear out the other, they don’t care what you have to say unless you’re praising them. And HR will back them at every turn, so no use bringing it up to them. - Pay is lacking. They will change your entire job and title and expect more work out of you but no compensation for it. This will also throw off any career planning you had, so say goodbye to any chance at that promotion that seemed in reach. You aren’t gonna see it! - Our top leadership is insufferable. To lay people off weeks before Christmas, drop our yearly performance raises, just to turn around two months into the new year with the great news that we acquired another company….. has anyone looked up the definition of “tone deaf” in their life? To be told that I should be “lucky” to be receiving a 1% raise??? Action after action from this group of people has been a slap in the face to everyone working for Adswerve and showing up for it day after day and giving it their all.
