      OK place to work

      Pros

      Advance America was an ok place to work. It was long hours, but the schedule was flexible as long as business needs were met. It was decent pay for the work.

      Cons

      Long days, outdated IT system, collection calls were a hassle, no real room for advancement, especially for those with a degree.

      Pros

      Best retail hours available. A good place to learn management skills, meeting new people in the community.

      Cons

      Company policy not black and white. To many gray areas. The operations manual says one thing, and you are asked to do another. Turn over rate is extreemly high due to lack of management skills at a higher level. Poor communication between upper and lower management. All centers do not work together, in fact sometimes they work against each other.

      Thank you for your advice. Our upper management is here to guide and support the field staff, but to have them spend a few days out of the month in the center would cause other areas of work to suffer. However, CEO Patrick O'Shaughnessy now requires all employees at corporate to work in a center a couple of days a year.

      Great experience but only use this company as a stepping stone for a BETTER job. This is not the job to make your career. MOVE.....ON
