      Great in the beginning then new administration...

      Pros

      Sufficient training and new employee orientation. Team environment. Overall, positive working atmosphere-- especially interdepartmental. Good pay for Volusia County. Company also offers retirement/benefits.

      Cons

      Limited growth potential. Hiring and salary freeze was implemented to decrease budgetary constraints. This often left the departments lacking for equipment and supplies. Administration went through many changes and a lot of employees sought out greener pastures or were let go to decrease overall company expense.

      Pros

      Staff and middle management fair, you will find team work, especially on Med-surg between nurses most of the time. Pay is decent.

      Cons

      Upper management " out to lunch when it comes to day to day functioning as a staff member" The plastic smiles are really frustrating to staff. Many benefits have been reduced or completely dropped.

      Administration supports dept functions and defends against physician abuse to nursing staff.

      Cons

      The hospital is comprised of numerous "cliques". If you are not in the "in" crowd, you will never succeed. HR is not comprised of people who will assist employees in trouble.
