Pros

Team :Leads (managers) assign projects and allow you to work them- very little micromanagement; great sense of community; maintaining a healthy life is important and promoted; although associated with the Adventist church, their beliefs are not pushed upon you. Resources needed to complete tasks are plentiful.

Cons

Although management's ability to make you feel like your services are beneficial to the company, yearly reviews and pay structure are in need or rework. Yearly evaluations are broken down to several factors and are rated in several quartiles- bad to extremely well. Although I continue to excel in my duties and receive highest marks on reviews, I tend to receive merely a $.75/per hour raise, which is a similar pay raise to those assigned and performing at a sub-par levels of work. Also, your ability to promote within the company has less to do with your performance and more to do with your ability to network with management. Because of this, a lot of the work assigned to those in a higher position gets taken away and reassigned to those in lower ranking positions, which also has a lot to do with the high turnover rate seen at AH.

Pros

Faith-based, ability to make changes are easier due to small company mentality. Flexible working hours and opportunity for growth are possible.

Cons

Poor leadership, unethical practices. No loyalty to the employee, regardless of work quality, or devotion to the network. Who you know, not what you know will get you places.

Pros

* Great mission * Sweet treats served regularly (also a Con) * Changes planned for a few years down the road * Fair pay (if you stick to hours assigned, and don't "volunteer" your life away to meet work goals)

Cons

* Vertical company that leads from the top without trust in their hires -- no delegation or authority shared * Outdated, old fashioned structure and management * Style and culture backward, a few decades. Things you take for granted now days are not there * All systems broken. Currently working to get new systems, but extremely slow and uninformed * High demand for output without reality-check. Employees cannot achieve goals with resources provided but are still held accountable for them. * Hiring is based on who knows who, and often based solely on shared faith group, not talent, experience, education * Ridiculous rules that have nothing to do with job requirements, such as menial tasks unrelated to job. * High-level managers allowed to use poor management with little oversight or guidance. Most have not had prior experience other than within the company. They base decisions on narrow experience without education or knowledge of better methods * Insufficient training for managers and positions * Broken trust shown in all areas and levels of management. They do not keep their word. They do not provide support for employees. They do not genuinely listen or take advisor e to heart. They do not consider employee input valuable. They pay heed only to higher management, who do not get around to learn what is happening beneath them. * Management makes no effort to meet employees and know them. * Management allows bullies in the workplace. They do not investigate complaints or take any action to resolve issues.
