Pros

I spend my days working to guide product teams at amazing companies who are doing fascinating work. As part of the Aha! Customer Success team (which is made up entirely of talented former product managers) I get to help innovators at many of the world's best known technology companies. That's exciting and I love it. Although everyone works in different places (some even in different countries), the incredible thing is that we all share a common belief. Everyone is passionate about changing how companies innovate and build products. The team follows the methodology that Aha! pioneered -- The Responsive Method. Because of this emphasis on rapid response and adaptability, we are able to work with customers quickly, when they need us most. This makes the work that I do each day even more impactful.

Cons

I can't think of any cons.

Pros

The company culture of autonomy, accountability, and agency is identical to what I love about open-source communities. Since joining the Aha! engineering team I have enjoyed new levels of independence and productivity, and delighted in contributing to one of the most sophisticated Rails apps I’ve had the opportunity to work on.

Cons

I thoroughly enjoy working remotely with the distributed team, but sometimes I crave social interaction. The entire company does get together in a destination location twice a year for a week, which is great. But that is only every six months, so I’ll often take my laptop to a coffee shop to work, which is a nice change of pace.

Pros

I've been working full-time at Aha! as a Rails engineer for over a year now, and I couldn't recommend it more highly. From the top down, the engineering team is made up of brilliant folks (our CTO once wrote an implementation of the JVM for a microcontroller in Assembly -- seriously) who will help you grow and learn more about your craft. The company culture promotes a great deal of autonomy -- nobody looking over your shoulder, you write code that gets the job done (even if it takes you a few tries to find the best solution).

Cons

It's fully remote -- I (an avowed introvert) see this as very positive, but if you aren't particularly self-motivated or need daily in-person interaction with coworkers, it might not be for you.
