Pros

I worked on the east coast under an awesome RDO, who is no longer with the company. All corporate management was very helpful. Culture was a big focus on the east coast and I loved this company SO much.

Cons

I moved my family across country to stay with this company because I loved it so much. It's very hard to rate Pillar because it was great under one region and then an absolute nightmare on the west coast. The RDO in Las Vegas is an extreme micromanager, very unprofessional, and focuses her job on favoritism. She does not let her general managers run the hotel at all and is not supportive at all of any of her managers. She focuses on the negatives, never recognizes anybody for hard work, and shouldn't be kept with this company. I worked for this company for 3 years and loved what it stands for, they need to get rid of the bad "leaders" to keep their good name.

Pros

the benefits were great until 2016 - they only gave staff 2 weeks notice that the insurance was going up over 100% in cost. Some of the staff now does not have insurance because they cant afford it.

Cons

leadership is a joke. micro management is beyond ridiculous and we report about what we need to do but dont have time to actually get it done because we are constantly reporting on it. its the craziest thing i have ever been a part of.

Pros

Pay well for our industry

Cons

Corporate Management has the philosophy that they want to be the BIGGEST Hotel Management company in the world. More hotels = more money for them! They care very little about the "front line" employee. Regional Sales people are completely out of touch with how buyers buy in 2015. They hire sales people to be telemarketers and focus on relationships somewhere near the bottom of the responsibilities. Not a good company to work for...beware if you are looking at a sales job. Stay away!.
