Pros

Great products, co-workers, and employees

Cons

Executive management does not care about employees, only stock prices. Every year the CEO over inflates the sales forecast to drive the stock prices and then places the blame on employees when numbers are not met and lays off a bunch of hardworking employees that are making a difference. Rinse and repeat, every year. Not sure why the board continues to trust the CEO. When things start to go sideways, the CEO starts micromanaging and berating sales instead of putting together a realistic forecast. All this because CEO only cares about stock prices and refuses to understand the value of resellers/channel, ramp up times, and working with the government. I have seen too many talented people let go for the wrong reasons at this company. Nobody can have a conversation with the CEO without him mentioning investors and stock prices, even if he's talking to engineering or accounting. CEO lacks experience and it shows.

Thank you for your review and we always appreciate candid feedback, especially when there is a need to improve our internal practices. I concur that Airgain features phenomenal products and the people at the company are among some of the best I have ever worked with. We absolutely recognize that we are not perfect as a company and are making strides to improve our process and practices, especially within the Sales vertical. We have recently hired an SVP of Sales who has brought positive impact to the sales team and is taking complete ownership of the sales function. With the new SVP in place, this has allowed our CEO to target his focus within his executive duties and no longer requires him to additionally lead the sales function. Our new SVP is further building out direct and channel sales and understands the timeframes required to ramp up business. He values the force multipliers such as channel sales with VARs and distributors and is improving internal/external alignment with these functions. While we still have work to do, we are looking to current and newly hired employees to drive positive change inside Airgain.

Thank you for your honest review of Airgain. Airgain has embarked on a journey to grow the company in multiple sectors while improving the culture and optics of the company. This journey has not been a straight line for us and we are building our teams with existing and external talent to strategically build our future. I agree the day-to-day can feel like a start-up company with the changes of direction, however give us some time to bring some ideas to fruition and I encourage you to check us out again in the future. Thank you for your honest review.

Plymouth office is great to work for

Pros

The Plymouth office came from the acquisition of NimbeLink, so there’s a different culture here than in San Diego and Scottsdale. My colleagues at the Plymouth office are all wonderful, which makes it enjoyable to come to the office [with the option to work remotely]. And then the team members I work with remotely are also fun to talk to and work on department projects together. (Plus being a part of the hiring process for my colleagues helped to find people who were easy to work with.) Another pro is that they gave me the proper equipment to work from home and when I need to travel. Not everyone is given the proper computer equipment, but it’s based on department, I think. They thankfully equipped the computers with the right software to make work easier—Word, PowerPoint, etc and any Adobe software that may be needed for the position. At the Plymouth office, they stock the kitchen with coffee, snacks, and water to make it comfortable to work. HR has been host bi-weekly lunch and learns and providing a free lunch. And specific activities to our office include a holiday pot luck and also a yearly office party, which most recently has meant a cruise on Lake Minnetonka. Lastly the health benefits, while they aren't terrible, they're mediocre. But there is an option for an HSA which is a plus as they did not have that option before acquiring NimbeLink. Overall, I’ve stayed here because I enjoy the colleagues I talk to the most, the office is close enough to my home when I commute, and it pays just enough to keep me. NOTES: Senior Management rating and other ratings seen below are based on Plymouth experience.

Cons

The cons of working at Airgain is that the process of getting a raise can take up to a year even after working here for so long. There's no formal maternity leave process so for women. Women have to go through insurance for a small check of 50% of your pay that you would make over the course of 6 short weeks. The environments does not support growing families. PTO and paid holidays could be more generous and competitive with other companies. HR can be unreliable and is hard to get ahold of on occasion. But this is mostly because of lack of resources.

I completely agree with your statements about the pros and cons of being with Airgain. We are adhering to our values of creating a flexible work environment, and are looking at opportunities to better recognize our employees. For the areas that we can further improve, we have identified many of the deficiencies you speak of and are taking multiple steps to address and continue to improve the experience of working at Airgain. We have moved to an unlimited vacation policy for FTE, and are working on opportunities to make the company more welcoming to families. IT is improving its resources by bringing more functions in-house and making the investment to better serve Airgain's employees. Thank you for your review of Airgain.
