- The founders are hands-on and doing the work of at least 2 normal employees each (both hours and work done), which is nice, but they're expecting the same from everyone else
- Constant tracking of how many and what kind of PRs people create, tickets they work on, messages they send etc. in the background
- The story is that Aiven can manage more databases than competitors because their management software is so good, which has some truth to it, but at least half of the performance is because of a couple of talented and often overworked individuals
- The company culture on paper and in reality are completely different, the culture is mostly glued on and not something everyone lives and breathes
- People are hired with higher pay and position than what they're used to, but as a result the position can be windy and employees disappearing on probation is not uncommon
- A lot of critical Glassdoor reviews have disappeared leaving mainly5 star reviews
